It looks like we are getting close to the end of our scheduled rides.  With only 6 rides left in the season I thought you would be interested in some club statistics. This years End of the Year Luncheon and Awards will be on October 28th at the Lamy Railroad Museum following the ride. The cost is $18.00 per person, payable in advance at the sigh-in table for the weekly rides. Devon Dalzell is the lead person for this event. Spouses and guest are welcome.

I am busy preparing awards for our Board members;
Judy Costlow, Ride Director
Devon Dalzell, Activity Director
Ian Norrish, Web Master
Bill Pollock, Media Coordinator
Steve Gitomer, Treasurer
Steven Hazen, Special Events

They are going to have awards for our Ride Leaders and HEROes. Also Karen Adelfang will be recognized for organizing the Colorado Tour. There will be an Elite 80 award given to our riders over 80 years old by October 1st. At this time there are 3 people receiving this recognition, Mary Clark, Dale Goering, and Wes Horner. Please let me know if I have missed anyone.

We are planning on the generosity of our sponsors; Rob and Charlie’s Bike Shop, Bike n Sport, and Java Joe's to help us out with raffle gifts. Also REI has provided items in the past.

If you have any ideas for entertainment that could be included, let Devon know.

This Thursday we meet at the Museum Hill Complex, lower parking lot. The long ride is in the 50 mile range (Tesuque, Las Campanas, and La Cienega), the medium group will do the 23 mile Santa Fe Loop.

Wes Horner, leader of the off-road riders reported:
“Yesterday I tried to ride the Arroyo Chamisa - Barbaria trail originally scheduled. The arroyo is very washed out, no fun to ride, so I am suggesting we do Forest  Road 79, beyond Canada Los Alamos.  All on dirt roads in the National forest, about 10 miles total out and back. Easy to medium difficulty and technically easy.  Driving to the trailhead will be necessary, about 25 minutes from Museum Hill.”
